SC&O Attorneys Earn LEED®
AP Accreditation
Smith, Cashion & Orr, PLC, is pleased
to announce that
Greg Cashion,
Brent Patrick,
Vic McConnell
and
Matthew DeVries
have earned the Leadership in Energy and Environmental
Design Accredited Professional (LEED®
AP) accreditation.
According to the U.S. Green Building Council, each of these
accredited professionals “have demonstrated a thorough
understanding of green building practices and principles and
the LEED Rating System.” The dedication of our attorneys to
the sustainability movement grows SC&O into one of the top
law firms in the Southeast in number of LEED®
AP attorneys.
“I am pleased with my fellow partners and
their strong desire to grow this practice group within the firm,”
comments founding member

“Each of them brings a much needed asset to the table: Vic is a
registered professional engineer with a background in
civil/environmental engineering. He has a wealth of experience in
design professional liability cases. Brent has an architectural
background and truly understands the contractual risks and exposure
arising out of the integrated design process. And Matt has built an
invaluable resource of information for the green building industry
at
www.bestpracticesconstructionlaw.com, a construction law blog
that focuses on sustainable design, green construction and legal
trends.”
Green Building and Construction
SC&O’s new Green Building Practice Group
will apply the same exceptional construction legal services its
clients have come to expect toward those “green” issues faced by
architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors,
developers, material suppliers, and insurers of architects,
engineers and contractors. With the sustainability movement in full
swing, SC&O is positioned to help its clients through these “green”
projects – from inception to substantial completion – while
minimizing unnecessary costs and risks associated with navigating
the complexities of this burgeoning field.
