Josh Swafford Associate

Josh Swafford is a native of Nashville, Tennessee and joined Smith, Cashion, & Orr as an associate in 2025. Mr. Swafford is an associate attorney whose practice focuses primarily on representing contractors, subcontractors, and owners in the areas of construction law. He advises clients on a wide range of matters, including breach of contract claims, contract negotiation, commercial litigation, and homeowner disputes.

Josh earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School, where he was a member of the National Moot Court Team and the Harry Phillips American Inn of Court. He graduated summa cum laude from Union University with a degree in Political Science and Spanish, and also spent a semester abroad, studying international law at the University of Granada in Spain.

Outside the office, Josh serves on the board of Cottage Cove, a nonprofit that provides after-school programs and tutoring for underprivileged children in Nashville. Josh is admitted to practice in Tennessee and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
